Dean Large ('Deanflyer')
Having just completed al all-natural metal version of XR769 whilst with No 74 Sqn in the early 1970's I just had to ask Dean to let me post some of his excellent model of the same aircraft much later in its career - this time with No 11 Sqn, RAF.

Here's another of Dean's recent additions...a very nice Revell 1:48 F-15E Eagle. The kit is very good from the box, but dean has added some useful additions from the Eduard etched set. I especially like that slightly faded weathering to the main panels - looks operational without being over 'used'?

I really like the treatment of the rear undersides...some subtle hydraulic staining onto that aluminium finish - just like the real Eagles. Those 'turkey feathers' on the exhaust cans are none too bad either - superb!

Tom Potter
Tom is a fellow scale modeller from our new club, and a very good modeller he is too!We recently had a theme night and Tom brought in his English Electric Lightning finished as the same aircraft as my own XR769 from No.74 Sqn RAF, Tengah in the early 1970s.

Julian Seddon
Here are some of Julian's stunning scale models - I'll more over the coming days. Just look at his MDC 1:32 Hawker Typhoon - how about that for weathering!?

And Julian's rather excellent Tamiya Me 262...

Julian sent me some notes on his build:
Basic notes;
This is a Tamiya 1/48 th Me 262 A2a.
I riveted it with "Rosie" as there was no detail of this sort
included. The extra detail included bits selected from Aires
(engine and part of the cockpit and underside) Eduard colour
instruments and placards, CMK slats.
Wiring was added where missing. The CMK slats were not good quality
in my opinion and had to be straightened out and even then were not
entirely to my satisfaction.
I airbrushed freehand and post shaded it with darkened original
colour and some burnt sienna oil paint almost dry brushed in to the
surface (particularly the underside)
Otherwise I opened a few panels and made retaining ribs inside from
card.

And a lovely T-33 he made for a Korean War vet...

Richard Bottomly
Here is Richard's excellent Airfix English Electric Lightning F.Mk6.The kit comes in the Grand Phoenix boxing with lots of extras. The paint was well thinned and buily up with pre-shading and a number of coats - all very impressive. looks just like the real thing!

Les Venus...
1: 32 scale is definitely Les's scale - as you'll see here!

Trumpeter F-84 Thunderchief 1:32

Trumpeter F-100 Super Sabre 1:32

This is a really excellent model - finished in all kinds of 'silver' tones from the Alclad II range. The metallic effect on the heat stained rear end is especially effective

Trumpeter P-47D
Les tells me that he thinks this kit is better than the Hasegawa release and it's not difficult to see why from Les's completed model. Great work...

Tamiya's superb F-4J in 1:32 scale looks superb in this VMFA scheme...

And Les's version of the Fisher Models excellent resin Hawker Sea Furn in Royal Australian Navy colours...

Les is certainly giving the Trumpeter Avenger the treatment - stunning engine detail...

And the cockpit...

Thr new Trumpeter P-51B looks impressive from these initial buils pics...?

Neil Ashby...
Mr F-4 Phantom usually builds in 1:48 but when temptation gets the better of him, 1:32 is always a possibility!

This is very nice...the Revell 1:32 scale Hawker Hunter F Mk6.

Hawker Sea Fury 1:48 - now that's different! Some nice weathering too...

And a lovely Tamiya 1:48 Supermarine Spirfire Mk.1A

Here he's build a nice Bf 109G-6 in the famous Erich Hartman 'Black-Tulip' markings...

Les Rawlins...
Les is big into P-51s and makes some of the neatest models of this aircraft around...He does go in for some big projects on occasions, none bigger than the Revell 1:32 Bf110G-4 a really good job on a difficult kit!

And a nice Tamiya F-4D in 1:32...

Spencer Pollard...
Known to many of you as Editor of Military in Scale - that excellent scale model monthly that I'm sure many of you subscribe to? If not, why not?

Spencer sent me this series of images when were both working on the Classic Airframes' English Electric Canberras. Hope you don't mind Spencer, but I just had to put these images up of the best model of this kit I've seen anywhere - just look at that grey weathered finish - looks like it's just about to start up!
