Gallery and build-up features

Projects included in this gallery are:

- F-16C Block 40 "Barak", Tamiya 1:32
- MiG 21MF, Trumpeter 1:32

This is the superb Tamiya F-16C modified to Israeli Block 40 spec using the very good Isracast resin conversion parts and decals. Don't you just love that 'Angel of Death' image on the fin - just excellent. The markings and overall scheme was definitely the inspiration for this project - a modern F-16C in something other than the usual greys!

You sometimes see these machines carrying the dayglo orange drop tank and I think it certainly adds to the finished model. Interestingly, the tanks often weather and I've tried to replicate this by drybrushing with grey enamel paint.

The seat harness is from lead foil (those wine bottle come in very handy here!). The buckles are from Reheat or you could scratch these in this scale using the same metal foil?

The addition of fine fuse wire for the brake lines and any placards you have to hand really set off the finished main gear unit.

Notes: Alclad II colours you can see here for the finish (last pic)

Graphite pencil dust is worked into the panel lines.

Pale Burnt Metal is sprayed in the recesses.

Here are a couple of images of a real MiG 21 seen at Duxford a couple of years ago...
