EE Lightning F.Mk6 (cockpit images)
This is the cockpit for English Electric Lightning F Mk.6 XR773 when based at Exeter just prior to shipping to South Africs and Thunder City, wher it now thrives with other British classics and stablemates...
British Phantom FGR-2
Here's the rear navigator's cockpit...The rear cockpit on the British Phantom is different in a number of respects to other F-4 variants. The British Phantom was developed from the F-4J...
And now for the front office!
The front cockpit is very similar in detail appearance to the F-4J. In 1:32 scale you only have the Aires or Avionix F-4J resin cockpits. The latter is better than the former for detail and fit and I hope to use one in the forthcoming large scale conversion from Meteor Productions...assuming it arrives!
Here are some images I shot of Handley Page Victor XM717 at RAF Mildenhall Air fete in 1988. This is quite a clean machine, then it was at and air display and it was nearly 20 years ago!!!
(you old b-----d) Hope you like them? They should help with detailing your Matchbox / Revell kit:
English Electric Canberra
I managed to take some pics of the starboard crew entry door on this B6 nose section located at East Kirkby. Hopefully this should help you detail your Classic Airframes B2 or TT Mk.18 kits? I suspect that this area of the B6 didn't vary that much from the B2 offered in the kits...
I hadn't realised this area was so cramped and full of 'stuff'' !!!
The images are looking in and you can just see thebase of the right side of the pilot's seat on its raised platform, plus the big step up and back into the rear crew section...
Overall colour is black.
With the release of the awesome Trumpeter P-47D Thunderbolt in 1:32nd scale, not to mention the excellent recent release of the same aircraft by Hasegawa in the same scale...I thought it might be useful to include some detailed reference images of the P-47s based at Duxford and on display at Hendon. So here goes...
Fairey Swordfish Mk III rebuild at Duxford
Here are a few images to really get you in the mood for the Trumpeter F-100 1:32nd scale model out now.
Now here's a challenge if ever there was one! Getting that burnt metal effect on the rear end!!! Good luck...I shot these images at the Midland Air Museum two or three years ago.
BAe Tornado F3
A friend of mine gave me these some time ago and I thought it was about time I did something with them - I'd completely forgotten I had them until I was unpacking all the photos and negs after our recent move...
There are some useful ones here - top-shots that you don't get very often.
Hope you like them and can use them to good effect in your Tornado F3 scale model projects?
Tornado F3s ZG796 and ZG770 lined up at Duxford in September 2002. Notice the classic heavy staining on the fins.
Who says Tornados never park with their flaps down? Roll on Neil's Paragon conversion!
Rear cockpit in the F3 - note the green tone to the CRT screens. This may be more to do with the reflection from the flash unit on the camera as they usually appear much darker when the cockpit power systems are shut down.
Underneath the main wing leading edge slat - note the camouflage demarcation
Flap detail here...
Nice image of a Tornado rear end at the RIAT Fairford in 2007.
Thanks to Phil at Pro modeller for kind permossion to use this image.
